After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Owls (6-5) extended its lead out to 6-0 in the top of the second, totaling five runs on two hits and were helped out by two errors by the Lady Warriors (3-12).

Hannah Campbell got the scoring started in the second, with a double down the left field line that scored Madison McCormick and Grace Fritz, who reached base earlier on walk and an error respectively.

After Campbell scored on a wild pitch to put the team up 4-0, Shelby LeCuru would tally two RBI, thanks in part to an error by the Bacone infield and at the end of two innings, the Owls had a comfortable six run lead.

The Owls would push its lead to 8-0 in the third, putting two more runs across the plate and then the team put the game away in the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits, led by Fritz hitting a three-run homer over the left field wall, her first with the Owls.

WWU would score another run in the fifth and go on for the 12-run victory (5 innings), led by the pitching performance of Julie Scheer, who picked up her first victory as an Owl, going five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out three.

The Owls totaled nine hits in the game, with Alexi Cavins going 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI. Fritz had a stellar game as the No. 9 hitter, going 1-for-3, with three runs scored and a career-high four RBI, while Campbell, Shelby LeCuru, Lindsey LeCuru and Brittany Bexten added one hit a piece.

Game two was a pitching battle between Owls senior hurler MacKenzie Bowden and Eagles (2-2) Aubrey Utley, as the duo both threw complete games, allowing the offenses to total just 10 hits and combined for 21 strikeouts.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth, as Jessica Wilmes got CMU's offense going with a one out double to left-center. After Bowden got the next batter to fly-out, Bri Ford broke the 0-0 tie, with a single to left-center, scoring Wilmes and giving CMU the 1-0 lead.

That was all Utley needed, as she sat the Owls down 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh and the Eagles were able to hold on for the one run win. WWU totaled six hits in the game, led by Kacey Scharnhorst going 3-for-3, while Campbell, Shelby LeCuru and Beth Begemann added one hit in the game.

Bowden did what she could on the mound, allowing one run on four hits and struck out nine, but the offense couldn't get much going against Utley, who struck out 12 Owls in seven innings. Offensively, CMU was led by Wilmes going 2-for-3 with one run scored.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow afternoon starting at 12 p.m. against Bethany College and will close out their time in Oklahoma at 2 p.m. against Northeastern State University.
