FULTON, Mo.-- Â The William Woods University softball team returns to the diamond on Monday night, in its final regular season game at home, as the Owls host Stephens College on Senior Day. First-pitch will be thrown at 4 p.m.

The Owls (21-22; 10-8 AMC), are coming off a 1-1 split in its last time out against Freed-Hardeman University, as the Owls dropped game one 10-2 (5 innings), but responded with a 5-3 win in the finale.

On the year, WWU is batting .302 as a team and are led by junior
Emily Murphy, who holds a .355 average, with 13 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and 24 RBI. Sophomore
Hannah Campbell continues to swing the bat well, having a .344 average, while leading the team in runs scored (29) and stolen bases (21).

Sydnae Hatton, a Centralia, Missouri, native, is third on the Owls with a .342 average, while
Kacey Scharnhorst has earned a .331 average and leads the team with six triples and 36 RBI.
Brailee Schulte has upped her average to .329, while
Caroline Sicht is batting .311 and leads WWU with six home runs.

On the rubber, the freshman duo of
Allison Waskow and
Bre Logan, have combined for an ERA of 3.47 in 268.1 innings pitched and have struck out 203 batters. Waskow, a Canton, Illinois, native, leads the team with a 2.68 ERA in 135.2 innings of work, while totaling nine wins and a team-high 105 strikeouts.

Logan, a Columbia, Missouri, native, meanwhile, has an ERA of 4.14 in 18 starts, has collected eight wins and 88 strikeouts in 115.0 innings pitched.

Also, against the Stars (7-25. 4-16 AMC), the team will be honoring its seven seniors, which are,

Grace Fritz,
Sam Parsons,
Kacey Scharnhorst,
Julie Scheer,
Caroline Sicht and
Macy Wierschem.

Cooper, a St. Louis, Missouri, native, has played in 76 games in her four year career with WWU. She holds a .204 avearge, while totaling 23 hits, 25 runs scored and 19 RBI. Cooper has also found success in the classroom, as she is a three time Academic All-AMC selectee.

Fritz, a Washington, Missouri, native, has appeared in 23 games in her tenure with the Owls, after she transferred to WWU from East Central College. Being slowed down by injury this year, last season, Fritz batted .304 in 22 games, totaling 17 hits, 17 runs scored, one home run and 16 RBI. She has also been named to the Academic All-AMC team.

Parsons, a Hallsville, Missouri, native, has a career .259 average in 119 games over the last four seasons with William Woods. The senior has totaled 60 hits, 47 runs scored and 15 RBI. In her freshman year, she batted a career-high .284, while this season, against Columbia College, she slugged her first collegiate home run. Outside the field, Parsons has been named to the Academic All-AMC team for three consecutive seasons.

Scharnhorst, a St. Peters, Missouri, native, owns a career batting average of .321, in 174 appearances. She has compiled 159 hits, 93 runs scored, 31 doubles, 12 triples, two home runs and 110 RBI. Since her sophomore season, Scharnhorst has batted at least .330 and totaled at minimum 30 hits.

Her best season with WWU came last year, where she batted a career-high .354, with 56 hits, 40 runs scored, six home runs and 44 RBI. For her efforts, she was named to her first All-AMC honorable mention team. Outside the diamond, Scharnhorst, is a three-time Academic All-AMC selectee.
Scheer, a New Haven, Missouri, native, first season with the Owls was in 2014, after she transferred from East Central Community College. On the rubber in two seasons, Scheer, has a 2.21 ERA in 57.0 innings pitched, while totaling nine wins and 42 strikeouts. At the plate, she is a .296 hitter, while scattering 16 hits and bringing home 13 RBI. She was named to the Academic All-AMC team as well.

Sicht, a Columbia, Missouri, native, has played in 168 games with the Owls and has totaled 144 hits, 64 runs scored, 27 doubles, three triples, 16 home runs and 110 RBI. Sicht, has batted over. 320 in all four seasons, with her best year coming in 2012, where she hit .365. She is a three-time Academic All-AMC honoree.

Wierschem, a Waterloo, Illinois, native, is a three-time Academic All-AMC honoree, while last year, she was named to her first All-AMC first team, after hitting a career-high .358, with 23 runs scored, 11 doubles and 23 RBI. In her four seasons, Wierschem, has played in 135 games, totaling 102 hits, 60 runs scored and 51 RBI, to go along with her .305 average.

Stephens College, will enter Backer Sports Complex, having its struggles as of late, dropping eight out of its last 10, including falling to Lindenwood-Belleville in its last time out, losing game one 14-3 and game two 4-2.

On the year, the Stars, are batting .284, and are led by Jamie Martin's .431 average (28-for-65), while also leading the team in home runs (four) and RBI (18). Sarah Dooley, is batting .365 and has smashed three home runs and added 17 RBI, while Jessica Kane is hitting .341 and leads the team in hits with 29.

Other bats WWU will need to look out for, include, Katie Heaton and Monica Nakamatsu, as the duo is batting .333, while combining for 49 hits, 30 runs scored, two home runs and 23 RBI.

On the rubber, Stephens, is led by Katelyn Rush's three wins in 88.0 innings pitched, while striking out 34 batters. Miranda Carlisle, leads the staff in strikeouts (39), while collecting two wins.
