Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Men's Tennis Team improved to 2-0 on the season after taking down Westminster College, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex.
The Owls got off to a fast start as they took all three doubles matches and never looked back. In No. 1 doubles,
David Barbieri and
Juan Avellaneda defeated Adam Fuchs and Scott Strough, 8-4. In second doubles,
Marcos Vinicius Prates Constantino and
Christian Barbieri defeated Peter Hassenmueller and Reese Hicks, 8-1.
Elias Fernandez and
Oscar Donker took No. 3 doubles over Dan McElroy and Grant Peterson, 8-0.
In singles action, the Owls six sets for entire six singles match. In No. 1 singles,
Christian Barbieri defeated Adam Fuchs, 6-1, 6-0. His brother,
David Barbieri defeated Scott Strough, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 2 singles.
Oscar Donker, who was playing No. 3 singles, defeated Peter Hassenmueller, 6-0, 6-1. In No. 4 singles,
Juan Avellaneda defeated Reese Hicks, 6-0, 6-1. Marcos Vinicius prates Constantino won, 6-3, 6-0, over Grant Peterson.
Elias Fernandez closed out the match for the Owls with a straight set, 6-0, 6-0, victory over Dan McElroy.
