The Owls feel behind early as they were defeated in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to start the day. The Mariners took No. 1 doubles as Justin Seller and Brad Dunn defeated
Marcos Vinicius Prates Constantino and
Carlos Clerins, 8-5. Coastal Georgia claimed its second point of match in No. 2 doubles with an 8-6, victory over
Jelmer Van Vliet and
Stefan Simic.
William Woods claimed its first point in No. 3 doubles as
Christian Barbieri and
David Barbieri defeated Ben Dolan and Dent Law, 8-4. Heading to singles action, the Mariners led, 2-1.
The No. 8 Coastal Georgia continued to show its power over the Owls as they grew the lead to 6-2 as they won the first four singles matches. Josh Banks defeated
Elias Fernandez, 6-1, 6-2, in No. 1 singles. Rhan Burton defeated Constantion, 6-2, 6-1, in No. 2 singles. Seller defeated C. Barbieri, 6-4, 7-5, in No. 3 singles. Hunter defeated D. Barbieri, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 4 singles.
The Owls lone point came in the No. 5 singles when
Stefan Simic defeated Brad Dunn. Simic took set one 6-4. Dunn came backing set two, 6-2. Simic came back winning the tiebreaker 10-6 and claiming the match.
Coastal Georgia took No. 6 singles as Ben Dolan defeated Van Vliet, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. The Owls were defeated 7-2. The loss for the Owls fall to 4-5 on the season.
