FULTON, Mo. — The William Woods University Softball team returns to Backer Field on Friday Saturday as they host Harris-Stowe State University (Friday) and Missouri Baptist University (Saturday) this weekend.
The Owls and Hornets, who are meeting on Friday, pushed back the start of its doubleheader to 3 p.m. on Friday. The contest was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Saturday against Missouri Baptist, the Owls will honor its three seniors between games of the doubleheader.
The Owls enter this weekend with a 20-23, 9-9 AMC record and are coming off a split with Columbia College on April 12
th. The Owls were defeated in game one as Columbia's Paxton Welch threw a perfect game. The Owls responded by taking game two, 3-2, over Columbia.

On the season, William Woods holds a team batting average of .299, with 207 runs scored, 61 doubles, nine triples, 16 home runs and 184 RBI.

Allison Waskow leads the team with an earned run average (ERA) 2.87 in her 24 games she has appeared in. Waskow has pitched a team-high 127.0 innings this year while picking up nine wins.Â
Sierra Jacques comes into the weekend with an ERA of 3.43 and eight wins on the season.

As a team, the Owls hold an ERA of 3.35. WWU is only allowing teams to hit .264 on the season with 42 extra base hits. The Owls pitching staff has struck out 164 batters on the season.
Harris-Stowe enters this week with a record of 1-15 on the season and 0-14 in AMC action. HSSU will be playing Missouri Baptist on Thursday prior to coming to William Woods on Friday.

Missouri Baptist enters the weekend match-up with a record of 23-17 on the season and 9-5 in AMC action. MBU plays hosts Harris-Stowe Thursday prior to hitting the road this weekend.
As a team, the Spartans are hitting .283 on the season and have collected 297 hits, including 52 doubles, three triples and 16 home runs. Leading the way is Amanda Williams, who is hitting .369 on the season. Right behind her is Rachel Garcia, who is hitting .324. Garcia leads the Spartans with six homeruns on the season.
On the mound, MBU has an ERA of 2.59 on the season and are allowing opponents to hit .263 on the season. Andrea Chessor has the lowest ERA on the team with an ERA of 1.77 in 138.2 innings. Chessor leads the team in wins with 14.
