Softball Host Lindenwood-Belleville on Tuesday

FULTON, Mo. — The William Woods University Softball team wraps up its 2016 home schedule on Tuesday April 19th when they host American Midwest Conference opponent, Lindenwood University – Belleville at Backer Field.

The Owls and Lynx have pushed up its start time up for the doubleheader. The games were scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. starts are now going to start at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The Owls enter this weekend with a 24-23, 13-9 AMC record and are coming off a sweep of Harris-Stowe on Friday and Missouri Baptist on Saturday. The Owls have currently won its last five games.
 
On the season, William Woods holds a team batting average of .300, with 233 runs scored, 65 doubles, 12 triples, 17 home runs and 208 RBI.
 
Leading the way is Hillary Hentges as she is hitting .366 (34-for-93) on the season. She has seven doubles, one triple and three home runs while driving in 19 runs on the season. Following Hentges is Sydnae Hatton as she is hitting .359 (52-for-145) on the season. She has five doubles, two triples and one homerun as well as collecting 13 RBI on the season. Following Hatton is Brailee Schulte, who is hitting .333 (39-for-117) on the season with six doubles, two triples and three home runs while driving in a team-high 36 runs.
 
Inside the circle, Allison Waskow leads the team with an earned run average (ERA) 2.64 in her 27 games she has appeared in. Waskow has pitched a team-high 138.0 innings this year while picking up 10 wins. Sierra Jacques comes into the weekend with an ERA of 3.16 and ten wins on the season.
 
As a team, the Owls hold an ERA of 3.08. WWU is only allowing teams to hit .256 on the season with 43 extra base hits. The Owls pitching staff has struck out 184 batters on the season.

Lindenwood-Belleville enters this week with a record of 31-14 on the season and 15-5 in AMC action. Lindenwood-Belleville will be playing Missouri Baptist on Monday prior to coming to William Woods on Tuesday.
 
As a team, LU-B is hitting .324 on the season and have collected 371 hits, including 48 doubles, six triples and 33 home runs. Leading the way is Emily Ray, who is hitting .405 on the season. Right behind her is Taylor Winn, who is hitting .392.
Winn leads the team with 14 home runs and 45 RBI on the season. Ray fallows with 10 home runs and 34 RBI on the season.

On the mound, the Lynx have an ERA of 3.69 on the season and are allowing opponents to hit .270 on the season. Winn, has appeared in 33 games in the circle, starting 18 of those games. She has pitched a team-high 134 innings and holds an ERA of 1.93 on the season. Winn is 19-6 on the season.
