FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's and women's tennis teams are traveling to Olathe, Kansas this weekend to take part in its Conference Tournament. The Owls Men's and Women's teams have received the No. 1 seeds.
The conference tournament for tennis is five teams from the American Midwest Conference and four from the Heart of America Conference.
On the women's side, the Owls enter the tournament with an overall record of 14-2 on the season and ranked No. 10 in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 poll. The Owls have not lost since April 1st when they lost to SCAD-Savannah.
William Woods is currently on a four match win streak. In their last match the Owls defeated Stephens College, 5-0, on Saturday April 23rd. The Owls have played seven of the eight teams at the tournament, which includes a perfect 7-0 against those teams.
The Owls will open play on Friday, April 29 at 12:30 p.m. They will wait to play the winner of No. 8 Stephens and No. 9 St. Louis Pharmacy match. The Owls defeated both this season. The Owls defeated St. Louis Pharmacy on April 15th by a score of 5-1.

On the men's side, the Owls are the top seed in the tournament and will play the winner of the No. 4 Baker and No. 5 Lindenwood-Belleville match, which will be played on Friday at 8:30 a.m.
The Owls enter the tournament with an overall record of 8-7 and have won its last four matches. The last loss for William woods was on April 13th when they lost to Missouri Valley, 5-4. Missouri Valley, is the three seed in the conference tournament.
The out of the six other teams at the tournament, the Owls have played five of them and have won each match. The Owls will play the winner of Baker and Lindenwood-Belleville. WWU played Baker on April 15th and won 5-2 and played Lindenwood-Belleville on April 22nd and won 8-1.
