Women’s Basketball Hosts Harris-Stowe Thursday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team returns to action for the first time since December 16 on Thursday, December 28th when they host Harris-Stowe State University at Anderson Arena. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
About the Owls
- The Owls enter the contest with a 6-5 overall record and 4-2 in the American Midwest Conference
- William Woods last game was December 16th when they played at No. 2 Freed-Hardeman. The Lady Lions defeated the Owls 68-57
- The Owls rank second in the NAIA in free throw percentage. WWU is making 77.9 percent of its free throws
- Jasmine Brown ranks seventh in the nation in blocks per game (2.2) and blocks (24)
- Besides blocking shots, Brown leads the Owls in scoring as she averages 14.1 points per game
- Following Brown in scoring is sophomore Peyton Greenlee. Greenlee is averaging 13.5 points per game
- As a team, the Owls are averaging 70.7 points per game and are shooting 39.9 percent from the floor
- The Owls are allowing teams to score 68.7 points per game and opponents are shooting 39.1 percent from the floor
- Sophomore Kaycee Gerald leads the Owls in rebounding as she is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game. She is also scoring 10.7 points per game
 
About the Hornets
- The Hornets come into Thursday's AMC matchup against the Owls with a record of 5-6 and 3-2 in AMC play
- Harris-Stowe has dropped its last three contests. Its last game came on December 16th when they were defeated by Southern Indiana 85-26
- Alantis Sutton ranks 37th in the nation in steals per game as she is averaging 2.5. She ranks 42nd in the nation in steals with 27 on the season
- The Hornets are averaging 14.3 offensive rebounds per game, the 29th most in the NAIA
- HSSU is averaging 63.5 points per game, are shooting 34.1 percent from the floor and 27.2 percent from the three-point line
- Opponents are scoring 70.3 points per game, are shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 31.7 percent on three pointers against the Hornets

- Tarsheia Page leads Harris-Stowe in assists on the season. She has dished out 28 assists, averaging 2.55 assists per game
 
What's Next
WWU returns to action on Saturday, December 30th when they travel to Bolivar, Missouri to face Southwest Baptist University in an exhibition contest. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
