FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team will have their weekend home opener on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19 when they host Briar Cliff University on Saturday and No. 20 Central Methodist University on Sunday, both double headers scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

- The Chargers will open their 2017 season at Stephens College on Friday, February 17 before they travel to play WWU
- In their 2016 season, the Chargers were 17-27 overall and were 6-16 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference putting them second to last in their conference standings

About the Eagles
- The Eagles have a record of 2-4-1 on the season
- Central Methodists last contest they were defeated by Saint Mary in game one, 10-9, before playing to a 2-2 tie because of darkness
- As a pitching staff, the Eagles are ranked third in the nation in strike outs with 46, Alexis Kohrs leading with an average of 10.5 strikeouts and 21 on the season
- Alyssa Lily leads the Eagles offense with a batting average of a 0.435 and has collected 10 hits, with one double, one triple, one homerun, and eight RBI's

The Owls will go on the road next weekend to play Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday, February 25 in a double header set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Bacone College on Sunday February 26.
