Box Score COCHRAN, Ga. – The sixteenth ranked William Woods University men's tennis team defeated No. 21 Middle Georgia State, 5-4, on Wednesday afternoon. The win for the Owls is its first win over a ranked opponent.
 
The Knights struck first as they won No. 1 doubles taking a 1-0 lead over the Owls. However, 
Oscar Barreiro and 
Johnnie Carmichael tied the match at 1-1 after winning in No. 2 doubles. After the final doubles match was ended the Owls found themselves down 2-1. Doubles results are listed below.

William Woods tied the match at 2-2 as they took the first singles point of the match when 
Oscar Barreiro won No. 3 singles. The lead did not last long as the Knights No. 1 singles player, Nishanth Rebello came back and won No. 1 singles.
 
The Owls would tie the match for a second time at 3-3 after 
Oscar Donker took No. 5 singles but the Knights went back to the lead after taking No. 2 singles. With the Knights on match point, the Owls bounced back taking No. 4 and No. 6 singles to clinch the match.
