Box Score OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The William Woods University men's tennis team defeated Missouri Baptist University, 5-1, to advance to the Heart of American/American Midwest Conference Unaffiliated Tournament on Friday evening.  
 
The Owls will play second seed, Missouri Valley at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Genesis Health Club in Overland Park, Kan. The winner of the WWU and Missouri Valley contest will earn an automatic berth into the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship.
 
In doubles action the Owls took an early 1-0 lead in No. 2 doubles as Oscar Barreiro and Johnnie Carmichael won 8-1. WWU took one more point, No. 3 doubles, Christian Barbieri and Christopher Vleeming Ortiz, won 8-5. WWU dropped No. 1 doubles. Full doubles results are found below:

Oscar Barreiro won 6-4, 6-1, in No. 2 singles, Johnnie Carmichael won 6-2, 6-0, in No. 4 singles and David Barbieri won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 6 singles. Full single results are found below:
