Women’s Basketball Returns to Anderson Arena to Host CBC

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team returns to Anderson Arena on Thursday, January 4 to host Central Baptist College in American Midwest Conference action. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
About the Owls
- WWU enters the contest with the Mustangs with a 7-6 overall record and 5-3 mark in the AMC
- The Owls are coming off an 86-68 loss to Lindenwood-Belleville on Tuesday night
- On Monday, senior Hannah Bland was named AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Last week, she averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds per game
- William Woods ranks seventh in the nation in free throw percentage as they are shooting 76.5 percent from the line
- Jasmine Brown finds herself ranked sixth and seventh in the nation in blocks. She is sixth in blocks with 27 and is seventh in blocks per game, averaging 2.07
- WWU has three players scoring in double-figures on the season. Brown leads averaging 13.5 points per game. Peyton Greenlee follows averaging 13.3 points per game and Kaycee Gerald rounds out the double-figure scorers averaging 10.3
- WWU is averaging 70.2 points per game this season and are shooting 40.6 percent from the floor
- Kaycee Gerald leads the Owls in rebounding as she is collecting 6.9 rebounds per game
- On the season, opponents are scoring 69.1 points per game against the Owls. WWU is allowing opponents to shoot 39.5 percent from the floor
- Thursday's home contest kicks off a three game homestand for the Owls
 
About the Mustangs
- Central Baptist comes into Thursday's contest with a 6-6 overall record and 3-5 mark in the AMC
- The Mustangs are coming off a 64-46 loss to No. 13 Lyon College on Tuesday night
- CBC has lost its last four contests. Its last win came on December 2nd against Stephens
- On the season, the Mustangs are averaging 68.5 points per game and are shooting 36.3 percent from the floor
- Karlie Senko leads the Mustangs in scoring on the season. She is averaging 12.5 points per game and is shooting 40.8 percent from the floor
- The Mustangs opponents are shooting 38.9 percent from the floor and 33.6 percent on three-pointers. CBC has forced 250 turnovers on the season
- CBC ranks 18th in the NAIA in offensive rebounds per game as they are averaging 15.4 offensive rebounds per game
