Women’s Basketball Hosts No. 13 Lyon on Saturday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 6th when they host No. 13 Lyon College in American Midwest Conference action. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
 
About the Owls
- William Woods enters Saturday's contest against the Scots with an 8-6 overall record and 6-3 in the AMC
- WWU is coming off a 71-42 victory over Central Baptist on Thursday. WWU had four players scorer in double-figures in the contest
- Jasmine Brown leads the Owls in scoring averaging 13.4 points per game. Besides scoring, Brown ranks fifth in the nation in blocks with 30 on the season. She is eighth in the nation in blocks per game averaging 2.1
- Peyton Greenlee follows Brown in scoring as she is averaging 13.1 points per game. Hannah Bland follows averaging 10.0 points per game
- On the season, the Owls are averaging 70.3 points per game and are shooting 40.8 percent from the floor
- Sophomore Kaycee Gerald leads the Owls in rebounding as she is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game. Gerald also finds herself ranked 22nd in the nation with 55 assists on the season
- Peyton Greenlee leads the Owls in made three-pointers on the season as she has hit 20
- WWU has collected 117 steals on the season. They are led by Gerald who has 31 steals
- William Woods finds itself ranked fifth in the nation in free throw percentage. They are making 76.4 percent of their free throws
 
About the Scots
- The Scots enter Saturday's contest with the Owls with a record of 11-3 and 7-2 in the AMC
- Lyon is coming of a 77-76 loss to Columbia College on Thursday evening
- Lyon enters the contest as the top ranked three-point shooting team in the nation. They are hitting 43.0 percent of its threes on the season
- The Scots rank second in the nation in three-point field goals made per game averaging 9.4 and third in the nation in three-pointers made at 132
- The Scots have three players averaging in double-figures on the season, led by Ali Tucker who is averaging 15.1 points per game
- As a team, Lyon are averaging 79.3 points per game and are shooting 47.7 percent from the field
- Opponents are scoring 58.7 points per game and are only shooting 37.1 percent against the Scots
- Tucker leads the Scots in three-point shooting. She has made 61 threes on the season and is shooting 53.5 percent on threes
