Men's Soccer Hosts Park for Senior Day on Saturday

FULTON, Mo. –
The William Woods University men's soccer team returns to action Saturday afternoon as they face Park University. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Firley Field.
 
The Owls will be honoring seniors Tres Caroo, Jordan Henderson, Stefan Simic and David Marshall as it is Senior Day for WWU.
 
About Park
The Pirates (6-5-1, 5-3-1 AMC) enter the contest coming off a 4-1 loss to Columbia. Before falling to the Cougars, Park was on five game winning streak.
 
So far this season, Park has had 12 players score a goal this season. Mohammed Ndaliro leads all goal scorers with eight on the season. The Pirates have scored 27 total goals this season. They have only allowed their opponents 20. Park has also had 82 total shots on goal and allowed opponents 53.
 
Ndaliro is one of three Pirate players with a national rankings. He currently ranks 10th overall in the nation in shots per game averaging 4.6 a contest. Luis Torres currently ranks 18th overall in goals against per game (.8) and Rafael Pinherio rounds our Park rankings with the 28th overall sport in total game winning goals (3). He also ranks 33rd overall in game winning goals per game (.25).
 
Last time against the Pirates
Last season the Owls faced Park in their final regular season game on October 25th. WWU defeated the Pirates, 5-2. Rodrigo Alves and Darren Wilson both scored two goals in the match. Victor Faure also scored a goal in the match.  William Woods outshot Park 19-9 and 12-2 with shots being on goal.
 
All-time vs. Park
The Owls and Pirates first met on October 6, 2010 when Park defeated WWU, 3-1. Park currently holds a 6-11-1 series lead over the Owls.
 
About William Woods
WWU (10-2-3, 7-0-1 AMC) enters the contest sitting in second place in the American Midwest Conference. They are coming off a 4-0 victory over Williams Baptist.  Tres Caroo, Victor Faure, Wessel Albers and Billy Nzojyibwami all scored for the Owls in the match.
 
The Owls have score a total of 35 goals this season and have held their opponents to 13 goals. They have also recorded 131 shots on goal and only allowed their opponents to 52.
 
Nzojyibwami, who has been a previous AMC Player of the Week, leads all Owls goal scorers with 10 on the season. He has attempted 42 shots with 25 shots being on goal.
 
WWU currently hold two top 10 national rankings. They rank 5th overall in total shutouts with 9 on the season and 9th overall in shutouts per game (.6). A win on Saturday will give the Owls their 6th home win and surpass their 2017 season home record.
 
AMC Tournament
The Owls are one of six teams that have clinched an AMC Postseason Tournament Berth. The top eight teams reached the AMC Quarterfinals, which start at Nov. 3rd. The top four seed host a quarterfinal matchup. Currently, the Owls have 22 points and are two points out of first.
 
What's Next
The Owls will close out the 2018 regular season contest with two straight road games.  On Oct. 23rd, WWU travels to Lindenwood University-Belleville for an AMC match. On Oct. 26th, WWU faces Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. Both games are 7 p.m. starts.
