FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team hosts the WWU Fulton Medical Center Invitational on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18. The Owls will face the Chargers of Briar Cliff University and the Maple Leafs of Goshen College.

About the Owls
- WWU enters the weekend with a 2-2 overall record after their trip to Fort Worth, Texas last weekend
- William Woods is 11th in the NAIA in triples with two in the season. Ali Massey and Bri Devellano claim one triple apiece
- The Owls are also 47th in doubles with five in the season. Emma Walker leads the Owls with two
- The Owls are 12th in the nation in batting average with a .381 average and have 45 hits, 30th in the NAIA
- Emily Robinett leads the Owls with a .667 batting average, 12th in the NAIA.
- As a team, the Owls are ranked 24th in runs scored per game, averaging 6.5 runs per game
- Amanda Bouchey leads the Owls in RBIs with four in the season, averaging one run per game crossing the plate

About the Chargers
- The Chargers are 1-3 overall on the season after competing in the Cowtown Classic
- Their solo win came against Oklahoma Panhandle State, with a score of 5-3 on February 9
- The Chargers are fourth in the nation in caught stealing, being put-out three times
- Briar Cliff is 11th in the nation in triples with two in the season; Isabella Gonzalez claims both an NAIA rank of No. 2
- Gonzalez also leads the Chargers in batting average with a .455 in the season with five hits and three runs
- Following Gonzalez in batting average for the Chargers is Codie Fineran who is hitting .364
- Lanae Shiley is leading the Chargers in strikeouts with 10 in the season and has an ERA of 2.21. The Chargers pitching staff has an ERA of 4.85 compared to opponent 1.68 ERA
- Shiley has pitched 19 of the 26 innings played by the Chargers this season. Abbygail Lint follows pitching in five innings
 
About the Maple Leafs
- Goshen enters the weekend with a 0-5 record
-The Maple Leafs have scored 16 runs in five games
- Brianna Sherman and Allie Gordie both have a triple in the season, and are tied for an NAIA 17th rank
- Rayna Moraga leads the Maple Leafs in strikeouts, collecting seven in the season. Moraga has an ERA of 6.68
- The Goshen pitching staff has an ERA of 4.93 compared to opponent 1.80 ERA
- Opponents are hitting .345 against the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs have collected a total of 16 strikeouts in the season and have given up 14 walks
- Allison White leads the Maple Leafs in hitting on the season as she is hitting .625 (5-for-8) on the season
