Box Score GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The No. 7 William Woods University men's tennis team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, was defeated, 5-1, by No. 5 University of Northwestern Ohio in a top ten showdown on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls got off to a slow start as they were defeated in all three doubles matches against the Racers. Radu Popa and Iustin Baciu defeated Christian Barbieri and Stefan Simic, 8-4, in No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 doubles, Artur Culicovschi and Gjorgji Popovski def. Oscar Barreiro and Christopher Vleeming Ortiz, 8-3. In No. 3 doubles Marcos Salazar and Lars Kaplusch def. Javier Callejo and Jesus Amezcua, 8-3.
 
In singles action the Owls received its only point when Javier Callejo defeated Iustin Baciu, 6-1, 7-5. However, the Owls were defeated in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4, and No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4. The final three matches were not finished.
 
The Owls return to action Friday, March 2nd when they travel to Liberty, Missouri to face NCAA Division II William Jewell College. Match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
