Box Score LIBERTY, Mo. – The William Woods University men's tennis team came away with a 9-0 sweep of NCAA Division II William Jewell College on Friday afternoon.

WWU came out swinging as they took all three doubles matches to open the contest. In No. 1 doubles, Javier Callejo and Christopher Vleeming Ortiz won, 8-3. Jesus Amezcua and Benjamin Tzchentke followed with an 8-3 in No. 2 doubles. WWU took No. 3 doubles team of Oscar Barreiro and Marcos Vinicius Prates Constantino won 8-3 taking a 3-0 lead.
 
WWU did not allow the Cardinals back into the match as the Owls took all six singles. In No. 1 singles, Javier Callejo won 7-5, 6-1. Oscar Barreiro won 6-4, 6-2, in No. 2 singles. Christopher Vleeming Ortiz won 6-2, 6-2, in No. 3 singles.
 
In No. 4 Jesus Amezcua won 6-0, 6-3 over Hayden Fulk. Nathan Cooke took No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Juan Esteban Duran closed out the day with a 6-4, 0-6, 10-7, win in No. 6 singles.
 
WWU returns to action on March 4th when they travel to Columbia, Kentucky to face No. 6 Lindsey Wilson College at 10:30 a.m.
