Softball Hosts Lindenwood-Belleville Wednesday in AMC Action

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team hosts Lindenwood University-Belleville for an American Midwest Conference doubleheader on Wednesday, April 18th at the Backer Sports Complex. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.  

The AMC Conference Tournament will be held May 1st- 5th in Columbia, Missouri. The top eight seeds will make the conference tournament.
 
About the Owls
- WWU enters the contest with a 20-18 overall and are 11-7 in the AMC
-The Owls are sitting fifth in the AMC
-WWU is 5th in the NAIA in triples collecting 18 in the season
Emma Walker leads the team with five triples which is 17th best in the NAIA and Lindy Wilson is right behind her with four triples, 38th best in the NAIA.
- WWU's offense is 46th in the NAIA in RBIs collecting 184 in the season and is led by Alli Massey who has collected 31 RBIs
Emily Robinett continues to lead the Owls in hits with 46 and has a batting average of .390. She also has 25 runs, five doubles, 17 RBIs and 12 walks. Robinett has a slugging percentage of .432 and an on-base percentage of .452
- The WWU pitching staff has an ERA of 4.13 compared to opponent 4.32
-Allison Waskow is leading the staff with a 3.26 ERA in 105.1 innings pitched
Madison Ausfahl leads in strikeouts sitting down 43 in the season, averaging 6.18 per appearance
- Opponents are hitting 0.283 against the Owls pitching staff
-The Owls have outscored its opponents by 28 runs on the season. WWU has outscored its opponents by 21 runs in the fourth inning this season
- On the season, the Owls have hit nine home runs as a team; with four of them coming this past weekend against Central Baptist College
 
About the Lynx
- The Lynx are 19-18 overall and are currently 8-8 in the AMC, ninth in the conference
- LU-B is ranked seventh in the nation in stolen bases collecting 90 bases in the season. The Lynx have three players with 10 or more stolen bases
- Madison Mountain leads the team with 16 stolen bases
- The Lynx offense is 41st in the NAIA in RBIs with 192
- Zoie Villa leading the team with 24 as well as batting average with an average of .416 with 32 hits
- The Lynx are ranked 46th in the doubles collecting 59 in the season
- On the season, the Lynx have 294 hits, of which 59 are doubles, 24 homeruns and three triples
- Peyton Rose leads the Lynx pitching staff in two categories, in strikeouts collecting 37 in the season as well as ERA (3.76)

- The Lynx have scored 212 runs on the season which is 42nd most in the NAIA

The Owls will travel to Columbia, Missouri to face the Cougars of Columbia College on Sunday, April 22 at 1 and 3 p.m.
