RV WWU Hosts No. 1 Freed-Hardeman Thursday

Fulton, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team is set to host No. 1 Freed-Hardeman on Thursday, January 31 at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
 
About Freed-Hardeman
The Lions enter the contest No.1 in the nation with an overall record of 20-1 and a conference record of 14-1, losing their only game of the season to Lyon (Ark). Before their loss to Lyon, Freed-Hardeman had an undefeated record of 19-0.
 
Sandrea Sylman leads the Lions in scoring with an average of 17.81 points per game. Carrie Hatchel comes in right behind Sylman averaging 15.91 points per game. 
 
Leading the Lions in rebounds is Haylee Croom, averaging 10.91 rebounds per game. Croom ranks 6th in the NAIA for offensive rebounds per game (4.333), 8th in total rebounds (229), 9th in total rebounds per game (10.905), and 10th in field goal percentage (.0545). 
 
Reagen Floyd ranks 4th in assist/turnover ratio per game (3.143).
 
Carrie Hatchel is 8th in the nation in total three-pointers made (62) and 9th in three-pointers made per game (2.952). 
 
The Lions have 23 top-50 rankings as a team as well as 22 top-50 individual rankings.
 
About William Woods
The William Woods women's basketball team defeated Missouri Baptist on Saturday, moving the Owls to 15-7 overall and 11-5 in conference play. 
 
Kaycee Gerald was the game's leading scorer against MBU, posting 22 points as she went 8-for-11 from the field and 5-for-7 from the foul line. Peyton Greenlee came up just shy of a double-double as she posted 12 points and pulled down nine boards, all from the defensive end of the court.
 
Greenlee continues to lead the Owls with 309 total points this season while averaging 14.05 points per game. She ranks 39th nationally in free throw percentage (0.786), 41st in total three pointers made (41) and 42nd in total scoring (309).
 
Gerald leads the Owls with 151 total rebounds with an average of 6.86 per game. As a junior, she currently has 949 total points and is closing in on her 1,000th career point. Gerald averages 12.23 points per game. She currently has five top-50 rankings including 28th in total steals (46), 34th in total assists (76), 44th in assists per game (3.455), 45th in steals per game (2.091), and 50th in total rebounds (151).
 
Overall, the Owls are shooting .418 from the field. Currently, their highest ranking is 12th in scoring defense per game (56.86).
 
Against the Lions
In their last meeting in December, the Lions came out strong against the Owls, defeating them 78-47. The Lions have been a powerhouse against the Owls as they have a 14-0 all-time record against them.
