Owls Look Momentum Boost Tuesday Night as They Face Lindenwood-Belleville

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 8th as they face Lindenwood University-Belleville. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
 
About Lindenwood-Belleville
The Lynx enter the contest 6-9 overall and 6-3 in the American Midwest Conference. They are currently on a two game winning streak defeating Hannibal-LaGrange 84-32 on Jan. 3rd and beating Stephens College 77-60.
On Monday, Jan. 7th, Brianna Mueller was named AMC Player of the Week. During the week of Jan. 1st-6th, she became Lindenwood-Belleville's All-time career point's leader by scoring 29 points in their win over Hannibal-LaGrange. This career game gave Mueller her 1,228th career point. In the game against Stephens, she scored 14 points giving her 1,244 career points. Aside from setting career highs, Mueller is also leading the NAIA in points averaging putting up 19.6 points a contest.
 
Lindenwood-Belleville currently holds two Top 25 national rankings. They rank number one in free throw percentage (78%) and 25th overall in 3-Pt field goal percentage (33%).
 
About William Woods
The Owls enter the contest coming off back-to-back losses. On Jan. 3rd they fell 60-52 to No.18 Lyon. Two days later, WWU loss 65-49 to Central Baptist. William Woods currently sits at 8-6 overall and 4-4 in the AMC which puts them in sixth place.
 
Peyton Greenlee still leads the Owls averaging 14.4 points a game. Her last time out she scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Following behind Greenlee, is Kaycee Gerald who's averaging just under 12 points a night.  In their last matchup, she managed to score 6 points and dish out 5 assists.
 
Also playing well for William Woods is freshman Kasey Hazell. She is currently third in scoring but leads the team with 80 rebounds on the season.  On Dec. 29th she tied her season high 18 points in a win over Greenville University.
 
Tuesday's contest will be the first home game since Dec. 1st.

On Jan. 10th, WWU travels to Hannibal, Mo. To face Hannibal-LaGrange. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
