Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – The No. 9 William Woods men's tennis team claimed another win on the road Wednesday afternoon against No. 19 McPherson College, 7-2. The Owls improve to 8-2 on the season.
 
To give the Owls their first doubles win, Zach Frisbie and Jesus Amezcua downed their opponents 8-2. To follow, Patrick Shelepov and Sam Bird pulled out a 9-7 victory over the Bulldogs.
 
The Owls led 2-1 going into singles action. In the No. 2 slot, Antoine Maraval gave the Owls their first singles win, defeating his opponent 5-5. Nathan Cook took a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 spot. To clinch the match, Aaron Westerlund took care of business with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the No. 3 spot. Javier Callejo followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 5 spot, Sam Bird claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over his opponent.
 
The Owls will face Kansas Wesleyan at home on Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m.
