Box Score MARSHALL, Mo. – The No. 9 William Woods University men's tennis team swept No. 24 Missouri Valley Tuesday afternoon to win their 11th straight. The Owls move to 17-2 on the season with the 9-0 win.

The Owls possessed a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Christopher Vleeming Ortiz and Oscar Barreiro allowed their opponent just one set in the No. 3 doubles. Aaron Westerlund and Javier Callejo in the No. 1 doubles and Zach Frisbie and Jesus Amezcua in the No. 2 doubles defeated their opponents,8-5.

In singles play, Callejo won 6-2, 7-6 in the No. 1 singles. Antoine Maraval dropped the first set, 4-6, but bounced back with 6-0 and 6-1 wins to take the point in the No. 2 spot. Barreiro won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot, and Amezcua won 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 4 spot. Vleeming Ortiz allowed his opponent just one in the No. 5 spot, winning 6-1, 6-0. Patrick Shelepov won the final point for the Owls with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win.

The Owls host NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State University for their regular season finale. Play begins at 2 p.m. at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex.
