Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The No. 9 William Woods University men's tennis team narrowly defeated NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State University for a senior day win on Friday afternoon. The 5-4 win over the No. 49 ranked team in NCAA Division II gives the Owls their 12^th straight win.
 
The Owls sit 18-2 overall heading into conference tournament play.

The Owls held a 2-1 lead over NMSU after doubles play. NMSU won the first point, but Oscar Barreiro and Christopher Vleeming Ortiz evened the score with an 8-4 win in the No. 2 doubles. Javier Callejo and Aaron Westerlund grabbed the go-ahead point with an 8-3 No. 1 doubles win.
 
NMSU took a 3-2 lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Barreiro finished third, evening the score at 3-3 with a 6-3, 7-5 win in the No. 3 spot. NSMU once again tied the match, winning in the No. 4 singles, but Vleeming Ortiz battled out a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win in the No. 5 singles. Westerlund won the deciding point in the No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-1, to clinch the match.
