Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 9 William Woods University men's tennis team defeated No. 20 Marion University (Ind.) Friday afternoon at the Indiana Wesleyan Invite, 5-1. The Owls move to 11-2 on the season.

The Owls possessed a 2-1 lead following doubles play. Christopher Vleeming Ortiz and Javier Callejo grabbed the first win in the No. 2 spot, beating their opponents 8-2. Oscar Barreiro and Aaron Westerlund in the No. 1 singles won the second doubles point with an 8-5 win.
 
The Owls needed three points in singles play to win the match. Barreiro finished first, allowing his opponent to just one point with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 3 singles. Jesus Amezcua finished next, defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles. Westerlund clinched the win in the No. 4 singles spot, grabbing a 6-3, 6-4 win. 
 
Callejo, Antoine Maraval and Sam Bird were all up on their opponents when the match ended.
 
The Owls will close out the Indiana Wesleyan Invite on Saturday as they face host No. 24 Indiana Wesleyan at 10 a.m. EST.
