FULTON, Mo. – Justin Stuckey has resigned as William Woods University head men's and women's tennis coach. He accepted the head men's and women's tennis coaching position at NCAA Division I Saint Louis University.
 
"I'd like to thank Justin for his time with our tennis programs," stated Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Vittone. " Our student-athletes have been extremely successful in the classroom and on the court during his time here."

"I want to first thank Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Vittone and Associate Athletics Director Tracy Gastineau for the opportunity to lead both the men's and women's program for the past three years," stated Stuckey. "As a coach, you always strive to make the program better than what it was when you took over. To see where the programs were three years ago to where it is today with all of the academic and athletic success reflects the great student-athletes I have been able to coach over the years. William Woods is truly a special place, and I will always be a big supporter of the University and athletics program."
 
Through Stuckey's three years as head coach, his teams won six conference championships and made six straight national championship appearances. During his career, he has been named ITA Central Region Coach of the year four times, Conference Coach of the Year three times and has 11 conference championships.
 
Stuckey amassed a 53-16 record for the men's team and a 48-24 record for the women. He coached nine NAIA All-Americans, including four First Team All-Americans, as well as five ITA All-American Singles and two ITA All-American Doubles. Throughout his three years, he coached 23 nationally ranked players.
 
Stuckey guided the men's team into the NAIA National Rankings in his first season with the Owls. By the end of his first season, he brought the team to a No. 8 finish in the postseason poll. In his final season with the Owls, the team earned their lowest rank in program history, ranking fourth in the week three 2019 poll. The Owls made it to the NAIA National Tournament all three seasons, finishing with two seasons in the quarterfinals.
 
On the women's side, Stuckey kept the team consistently in the top 10. At the conclusion of his first year, the team ranked No. 3 in the postseason poll following their Semifinal loss at the NAIA National Tournament. The Owls made it to the quarterfinal round of the Tournament all three seasons under Stuckey's helm.
 
A search for his replacement has begun.
 
"We'll work diligently to ensure we find the right person to lead this nationally recognized program moving forward," added Vittone.
