ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The William Woods University men's and women's track & field team competed at the Dick Cochran Classic hosted by Lindenwood University Saturday afternoon.
Results
The Owls only had two men and three women competed in an attempt to improve their AMC Conference rankings and an extra chance to try at national standard marks.
It was wet and rainy conditions for most of the day in the mid-50's.
Women
Alicia Engelbrecht placed second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:44.10, destroying her PR by almost 50 seconds. Her time moves her to third in the AMC.
Ellie Dimond placed third in her first-ever 3000-meter steeple chase run with a time of 11:34.29. She was just 4.29 seconds shy of the NAIA "B" Standard, moved to second in the WWU record book and moved into first in the AMC by over a minute and a half.
Kylie Zamboni-Cutter finished in third place with a 1.55-meter clearance in the high jump.
Men
Competing in the 3000-meter steeplechase for the men,
Cole Koch placed fourth with a 10:16.48 time.
Landon Dunlap set a new PR in the 1500-meter run with his seventh place 4:05.33 time. His time moves him into fourth in the WWU record book and keeps him ranked first in the AMC.
The Owls will compete next on Friday, May 7, at the AMC Outdoor Championships hosted by Missouri Baptist University.
