Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team used strong second and third quarters to grab a 10-point win over Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon.
Sydney Booker recorded a double-double (27 points, 11 rebounds) in the 68-58 win, bringing the Owls to 2-5 on the season.

The Owls continue their four-game home stretch on Thursday, Dec. 1, as they host University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. Tip-off for their second conference match up begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Owls started the game with a 4-0 lead with a jumper from
Sydney Booker and a layup from
Natalie Thomas. BBC evened the score three times before taking a four-point lead following a 6-0 run, 12-8. The Owls answered with a 7-0 run ending with a three from the top of the key with 46 seconds on the clock to take a 15-14 lead, but BBC ended the quarter with two free throws to lead 16-15.
The lead changed twice to start the second quarter, but the Owls put together an 8-1 run to take a 25-19 lead with just under five minutes to play. BBC cut the game to two with one-minute remaining, but a layup from Thomas and a jumper from Booker gave the Owls a six-point lead heading into halftime, 31-25.
A layup from
Jersee Wren and a jumper from Booker gave the Owls a 10-point lead six minutes into the second half, and a layup from Thomas followed by three points from Booker gave the Owls a 13-point lead with 3:21 on the clock, 47-34. BBC cut the game to single digits a few times, but a foul on Madison Adolphen's three with 1.1 on the clock put the Owls up by 11 heading into the final quarter, 51-40.

Katie Keilholz gave the Owls a 16-point lead early in the fourth, 56-40. BBC cut the game to eight just over halfway through the final quarter, but a three-point play from Thomas followed by a fast break layup by Booker put the Owls back up by 13 with just under two to play, 65-52. Olivia Hanks gave the Owls a 13-point lead with under 30 seconds to play. A three from BBC closed out the game with a 10-point Owls' win, 68-58.
