FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Athletic Department prides itself in success not only on the field, but off the field too, as the student-athletes had another outstanding semester in the classroom.
The Owls posted a 3.3519 GPA for the spring semester, marking the 23
rd consecutive semester above a 3.0 and the 14
th consecutive semester above a 3.2 GPA mark. The Owls have achieved a GPA higher than a 3.3 in five of the last six semesters.
""I'm very proud of our student-athletes," stated Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Jason Vittone. "We completed another incredibly successful semester in the classroom, in the community and on the field. I believe our kids demonstrate daily the true meaning of a student-athlete. Their accomplishments are incredible. It's another great day to be an Owl."
The women's tennis team led the department with an impressive 3.8838 GPA.
The Owls had 14 of the Owls' 18 sports finished above the 3.0 mark. Eleven of the teams were above a 3.2, nine above a 3.3, eight above a 3.4, six above a 3.5, five above a 3.6 and three above a 3.7.
The Owls had 78 student-athletes achieve a 4.0 GPA, which was 16 more than the fall semester.
