Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's tennis team opened the fall 2022 season with a 7-0 sweep over NCAA Division II University of Missouri-St. Louis, 7-0.
 
The Owls came away with the doubles point after sweeping all three courts. Vaclav Schneider and Vitek Subert won 6-3 in the no. one doubles. Patrick Shelepov and Zinovii Nahirniak finished next in the three doubles with a 6-4 win to clinch the doubles point. Andrej Jovanovic and Ben Grumley in the two doubles finished out with a 7-5 win.
 
In singles play, Shelepov finished first as he held his opponent scoreless in the no. four spot, 6-0, 6-0. Schneider finished next in the one spot, allowing just one point, 6-1, 6-0. Subert clinched the match as he won 6-4, 6-1 in the three spot. Nahirniak finished fourth with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the two spot. Playing after the first four singles, Grumley won 7-5, 6-2 in the five spot, and Robert Schorr won 6-2, 6-1 in the six spot.
 
The Owls will compete in the ITA Regionals in Wichita, Kan. Starting on Sept. 30.
