FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods University Outdoor Life Sports Shotgun Team will open its inaugural season Wednesday with a shoot off versus State Fair Community College at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club in Sedalia, Mo. The teams will be shooting trap.
"The Owls are looking forward to our first outing of the season," stated Head Coach
Taylor Bryant. "We are thrilled to be partnering with State Fair Community College and Coach Manual to get some pre-season jitters out before this event's contest."
"Although the program is in its infancy, the indomitable spirit of perseverance among the outdoor life team will no doubt lead the program to success," stated freshman
Hunter Czarnecki-Ball.
Outdoor Life Sports was one of two new intercollegiate sports announced at William Woods earlier this year. The archery team kicks off their inaugural season on Sept. 24, and Men's and Women's Bowling will begin its first season on Oct. 15.
The first-ever WWU Shotgun Sports Team consists of
Felice Allen,
Hunter Czarnecki-Ball,
Emma Pyles,
Devin Sell,
Lydia Vance and Tyler Winslett.
Shotgun sports will compete in five competitions this fall, ending with the NCSSAA Fall North Central Regional Qualifier in November.
