SPARTA, Ill. – The William Woods University Shotgun Sports team continued its strong fall campaign with a third-place finish in the CAA Division at the ACUI Regional Championships this past weekend, totaling 1,284 out of 1,500.
Leading the charge for the Owls was Hayden Wooldridge, who posted a 259/300, followed closely by Landon Schachtele with a 257/300. Hunter Czarnecki-Ball (254/300), Steven Salyer (253/300), and Kaleb Ingram (244/300) rounded out the top five scores for The Woods.
In American Trap, Skylar Touchette turned in a stellar performance, shooting 97/100 to place 12th, while Elena Parr followed closely with a 94/100, finishing 15th in the field.
Head Coach Connor Hess praised the group's resilience under pressure, saying, "I am beyond proud of how my team was able to bear down and focus through the competition, bringing home yet another ACUI trophy."
This is Woods' last competition of the fall season; they now set their sights on competing for the first ever Heart of America Conference Championship for their sport in the spring.
