FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team fell to Missouri Baptist University Thursday evening, 70-56. The Owls fall to 5-13 on the season with a 3-8 conference mark.

The Owls travel to University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Thursday, Jan. 26, for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

Ruthie Brown hit a jumper and
Olivia Hanks followed with a three to cut the game to one with three minutes to play in the first, 10-9. MBU scored the final points of the quarter, sending the teams into the second with MBU leading 15-11.
An 8-0 MBU run put the Owls down by 11 three minutes into the second quarter, 25-14. The Owls consistently cut the game to single digits, but MBU closed out the half with a 4-0 run to send the Owls into halftime down 35-22.
The Owls cut their deficit to single digits just over three minutes into the second half with a three from
Madison Adolphsen. MBU answered with an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 17 halfway through, 50-33. The Owls finished out the quarter with a 10-4 run to cut the game to 11, 54-43.
The Owls cut the game to single digits five times throughout the fourth quarter but MBU closed out the game with a 6-0 run to win it 70-56.
