COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball season ended in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championship quarterfinals Friday afternoon with a loss to two-seed Missouri Baptist University. The 66-55 loss concludes the season with an 8-20 overall record.

Happened
Natalie Thomas scored the first six points for the Owls to take up a 6-2 lead four minutes in. MBU took the lead twice, but a three from Thomas put the Owls back ahead, and the Owls finished out the quarter with a 7-0 run to take a five-point lead, 17-12. Thomas scored 13 in the first quarter.
An impressive 8-2 run through the first four minutes put the Owls up by 11, 25-14. Two minutes later, MBU cut the game to three, 25-22. A three-point play from
Mariah Prince pushed the Owls' lead back to six. MBU scored the final points of the half, but the Owls held a three-point lead heading into halftime, 29-26.
MBU began the third quarter with a 9-0 run to take six-point lead four minutes in, 35-29. A layup from
Mariah Prince followed by two free throws from Thomas cut the game to four, but MBU closed out the quarter with a three to hold a 44-37 lead heading into the final quarter. The Owls were outscored 18-8 in the third quarter.
Two good free throws from
Sydney Booker cut the game to five two minutes into the final quarter, but the Owls remained one step behind. MBU pushed their lead to double digits three times, but the Owls continued to bring it back to single digits. The Owls were unable to close the gap though, ending with an 11-point loss, 66-55.
