COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team swept NCAA Division III Westminster College Friday afternoon. The Owls short-gamed the Blue Jays in game one with the aid of
Mariah Prince's grand slam and six RBIs, 11-2. The team went on to score 10 in the second inning of game two, leading to a second five-inning win, 10-1.
With the sweep, the Owls improve to 5-16 on the season.
- The Owls scored their 11 runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to short-game the Blue Jays.
- Mariah Prince hit a grand slam in the fourth and RBI doubles in the third and the fifth. She went 3-4 from the plate with six RBI.
- The Owls finished with nine total hits. Four players finished with extra base hits – Iliana Manzano, Jessica Keilholz, Arianna Donovan and Mariah Prince.
- Jessica Keilholz went 2-3 from the plate with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Pitching: Sarah Randermann (3-8) pitched the complete game win. She struck out three and allowed just two runs.
- The Owls scored all 10 of their runs in the second inning, leading to a 10-1 five-inning win.
- Mariah Prince hit a RBI double to plate the first run of the game. On her second at bat of the inning, she batted in two runs on an error.
- Jaden Swift hit a RBI ground out for the winning run.
- Taylor Bell hit a base clearing triple to put the Owls up 5-0.
- Jessica Keilholz hit a RBI double.
- Arianna Donovan ended the Owls' rally with a two-run homer.
- The Owls recorded nine hits from nine different players with five being extra base hits – Jessica Keilholz, Mariah Prince, Jaden Swift, Taylor Bell and Arianna Donovan.
- Pitching: Jessica Keilholz (2-7) pitched the complete game win. She struck out five of the 18 batters faced and allowed just two hits and one run.

The Owls travel to Missouri Valley College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 14, starting at 2 p.m.
