Softball Drops Two Close Games to Columbia

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team dropped two close games to Columbia College Tuesday afternoon.  The Owls dropped game one 1-0 and game two 2-1. The team falls to 14-21 on the season, 8-4 in conference play.
 
 
  • Columbia scored the one and only run of the game in the top of the first on a RBI ground out.
  • The Owls were limited to just three hits on the game.
  • Iliana Manzano had a double in the bottom of the seventh inning. Crystal Ruden and Jessica Keilholz recorded the other two hits.
  • The Owls left two stranded in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh.
  • Pitching: Jessica Keilholz (6-10) pitched the complete game. She allowed just three hits while striking out six.
 
 
  • The Owls plated their only run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.
  • The Owls were held to just two hits, both coming from Ally Mahoney.
  • Pitching: Sarah Randermann (7-10) pitched the complete game. She struck out two while allowing nine hits and two runs.
 
 

The Owls host Cottey College on Saturday, Apr. 15, starting at 2 p.m. for their Think Pink games.
