FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team split with University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Tuesday afternoon. The Owls dropped game one (2-1) but bounced back with a 7-4 game two win.
The Owls move to 15-22 on the season with a 9-5 conference mark.
- The Owls scored their only run on a Taylor Bell RBI double in the fifth inning, tying up the game at 1-1.
- UHSP scored their first run in the first inning and the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth. Both came from C. Tennessen's RBI doubles.
- The Owls were limited to five hits from five different batters – Crystal Ruden, Taylor Bell, Mariah Prince, Ally Mahoney and Mia Santos.
- Pitching: Sarah Randermann (7-11) pitched the complete game and was credited with the loss. She struck out three through the six innings and allowed two runs.
The Owls travel to (RV) Missouri Baptist University on Friday, April 21, for their eighth conference match-up of the season. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
