William Woods University is soliciting responses from interested firms to provide construction management services for playing surfaces and athletics facilities at its football/soccer, baseball, and softball fields.
 
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
William Woods University will artificially turf its current soccer field (Firley Field) and is considering artificial turf surfaces for its softball field (full field) and baseball field (infield and wings only), located at Backer Sports Complex in Fulton, MO. The baseball and softball projects are not guaranteed and are secondary to the football/soccer project.
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Respondents should be familiar with and sensitive to NAIA (NCAA) rules and regulations, as well as with the American Midwest Conference (AMC), and mindful of partnerships that are established with each organization.
 
Respondents should demonstrate the ability to undertake and effectively manage a project of this size and complexity, including the availability of adequate resources (staff and facilities), including:

• The ability to plan, cost schedule, and manage a project of similar scope.
• Evidence of experience and qualifications for providing services to a not-for-profit entity.
• Recent, direct experience with projects of similar scope/budget.
• Qualifications and experience with similar institutional athletics projects.
• Ability to handle the full scope of a future stadium build, including press box, locker rooms, weight room, coaches office, and stadium seating.

Selection of qualified firm announced	August 7, 2023
Contract Negotiations	August 2023
Design Starts	TBD
Construction Starts	Following 2023 Soccer season
Project Complete	Spring 2024

 
SUBMISSION
Submission must be electronic, via email. Proposals mailed or delivered in hard copy form will not be accepted. Deadline for responses is 1:00 p.m. local time on July 28, 2023. All respondents will be notified of results by email, so please provide accurate contact information.  Submission must include anticipated cost for artificial playing surface on soccer/football field, baseball field (infield and wings only) and softball field (full).
