TEMPE, Ariz. - After posting wins in both of its dual matches in the fall and sweeping the singles and doubles titles at the 2023 ITA Central West Regional Championships, William Woods University men's tennis debuted at no. 7 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis Point. Woods boasts a composite World Tennis Number of 13.4 and is the only American Midwest Conference/Heart of America Athletic Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference team ranked in the top 25.

The Owls are set to open the spring season with a pair of road contests against NCAA opponents. William Woods will take on Drake University on Sunday, Jan. 21, with first serve set for 4 p.m. It is the first NCAA Division I opponent for Woods since a 4-3 road win over Saint Louis in 2017.

WWU then battles NCAA Division II Washburn on Saturday, Jan. 27, as a final tune up before the ITA NAIA Indoor Team Nationals Feb. 2-4. The three day event pits the Owls against some of the top teams in the NAIA, including preseason no. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College.
