FULTON, Mo. - With temperatures plummeting towards freezing on Saturday afternoon, no. 6 William Woods (9-4) rolled over no. 21 Lindsey Wilson (6-2), clinching a 4-0 win. Ben Grumley and Zinovii Nahirniak picked up a huge upset at the no. 1 doubles with a 6-2 win over the ninth-ranked doubles partnership of Jan Silhovy and Miquel Perez to spark the sweep.

Vaclav Schneider and Vitek Subert led off the wins for Woods, claiming a 6-1 win at the 2 doubles line before Grumley/Nahirniak's win clinched the point for Woods.

Grumley made swift work of his opponent at no. 2 singles, downing Jaume Barcelo 6-2, 6-4 to add another point to WWU's tally. As the match on court two wrapped up, the no. 5 and 6 singles pairs watched briefly, waiting to see if the Blue Raiders would be able to claim one of the remaining singles points and extend the match.

Perhaps five minutes after Grumley had finished his contest at the no. 2 line, Schneider finished off his 6-2, 7-5 win over Silhovy at the 1 line, leaving Perez at the 3 and Lucas Marques at the 4 the only hope for LWC.

As Subert began to hit short volleys with his counterpart at the no. 5 line, Stepan Mach brought the match to an end, holding off the comeback attempt from Marques to take a 6-0, 7-5 win at no. 4 singles.

William Woods returns to action a week from today, heading to Marshall, Mo., for an 11 a.m. match against Missouri Valley College.
