FULTON, Mo. - William Woods University (17-7, 8-4 Heart) returned to Anderson Arena Friday night, hosting Heart of America foe Peru State College (11-15, 4-9 Heart) and looking to build on its strong midweek performance.

The Bobcats came out firing on all cylinders, forcing the Owls to take an early timeout to regroup. Lennon Adams led the charge for Woods with three kills and a block, helping rally her team to even the score late in the first set. Staying composed under pressure, the Owls edged out a tight opener, 26-24, with the help of an ace from Roberta Carlos de Silva and Luciana Pavia Pereira. 

Peru State responded in the second set, jumping out to an early lead and putting the Owls on their heels. Despite efforts to close the gap, Woods couldn't find their rhythm as the Bobcats rolled to a 25-10 win to even the match at 1-1.

The Owls came out energized in the third, quickly establishing control and refusing to look back. Ivi Marcolino and Luciana Pavia Pereira each tallied five kills to keep Woods in front throughout the frame. With the set on the line, Pamela Durazo sealed it with a powerful kill, giving the Owls a 25-22 victory and a 2-1 match lead.

Carrying that momentum into the fourth, the Owls jumped out to a commanding 8-2 advantage, forcing an early timeout from the Bobcats. Peru State rallied to pull within one, but Woods stayed composed and finished strong. The Owls closed out the set 25-22 to secure the 3-1 match win.

William Woods University looks to take this momentum to Central Methodist University as they hit the road on October 21st for Fayette at 7:00 p.m., looking to take another one from the Eagles.
