COLUMBIA, Mo.— Woods cross country continued its 2026 season with a stop at the Larry Young Invitational, hosted by Columbia College at the prestigious Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The renowned course has hosted numerous NAIA and NCAA championships and is regarded as one of the most beautiful courses in the country.

In the women's 5,000m, the Owls finished in fifth place with 125 points. Woods finished just behind NCAA Division I Lindenwood University, which collected 105 points for a fourth-place finish. Gretchen Marriott was the first Owl to cross the finish line, posting a time of 20:27.8 for a 21st-place finish. Devan Humphreys, Sydney Grubb and Abby Gibson followed in 30th, 32nd and 33rd, respectively. Freshman Maggie Ramsey rounded out the top five for the Owls with a 38th-place finish.
Women's Results

The men's 6,000m race fired off just 45 minutes later, with the Owls earning a sixth-place team finish. Woods collected 186 points, finishing between NCAA Division III Webster University and Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent Central Methodist University. Senior Kyle Hagemeyer paced the group with a 23rd-place finish. Justus Yates followed in 43rd, finishing one minute and 20 seconds behind Hagemeyer. Gabe Soest finished 47th, freshman Carter Nading crossed the line in 60th, and transfer junior Jack Walters rounded out the squad with a 70th-place finish out of 101 runners.

The Owls are back in action October 3rd, at the Seminole Valley Course in Cedar Rapids.
