ST. LOUIS - After tossing two complete-game victories to begin her college career, William Woods University's
Taylor Baumhoer earned American Midwest Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, announced the conference Monday. Central Baptist College's Kinley Johnson, softball player of the week, joined Baumhoer as an AMC softball player of the week selection for Week 1 (Jan. 27 - Feb. 2).
A committee of athletic communications professionals selected the weekly award winners throughout the conference from a pool of nominees submitted by each school.
Baumhoer pitched 15 innings against two Jaguar ballclubs at the Louisiana Christian Invitational, an 8-5 eight-inning win over Texas A&M University-San Antonio Friday, and a 5-3 upset over (RV) University of Houston-Victoria Saturday, and allowed five earned runs (three unearned) on 14 hits while striking out seven on the weekend.
