ST. LOUIS - William Woods University's
Jenson Starr set a new personal best time and American Midwest Conference leading time in the 10,000-meter run at the WashU Distance Carnival, hosted by NCAA Division III Washington University in St. Louis from Thursday to Friday at Francis Olympic Field.
Starr crossed the finish line in 31 minutes and 23.84 seconds for his PR-setting time. The race conditions were windy and cloudy most of the day, but subsided as the race went on.
"Jenson ran a disciplined race from start to finish," William Woods track and field assistant coach
Gregory A. Keeler said. "I am so proud of his effort, but I am most impressed with the way he finished his race by winning his heat."
The Owls will send their entire team to the CMU Invite, which will be hosted by future conference opponent Central Methodist University from Friday to Saturday at Davis Field & Hairston Track in Fayette.
