DeMarco Named Owls’ First-Ever All-American, His Third Straight Selection

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rewarded for the most remarkable offensive season of his distinguished career, William Woods University's Vinny DeMarco became the Owls' first-ever NAIA All-American, named to the third team as an attacker, in their inaugural season, and he capped his outstanding four years of collegiate lacrosse with a third straight All-American accolade, announced the association Thursday.

This season, DeMarco tallied 61 goals (career-high - previous best: 49; third in the NAIA), 25 assists (23rd in NAIA), 86 points (career-high - previous best: 84; sixth in NAIA) 182 shots (career-high - previous best: 170; second in NAIA) and 106 shots on goal (career-high - previous best: 102; third in NAIA).

DeMarco's season-highs as The Woods's most highly-involved attacker were 10 goals and 15 shots on goal at Missouri Valley College on April 5, five assists versus Ottawa on March 26, 12 points versus Clarke University on April 12 and 20 shots versus Midland University on April 9.

The latest and greatest All-American honor was DeMarco's fifth award for the Owls this year, as he also received Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Heart, NAIA Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week (April 7-14; WWU's first national player of the week in any sport in quite some time) and Heart Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week (April 7-14; the first-ever Owl to earn the accolade).

One of the NAIA's top attackers in the sport's nine-year history and one of not many to be a three-time All-American, DeMarco, in 53 games played (all starts) recorded 191 goals, 109 assists, 300 points, 603 shots and 360 shots on goal over his four-year career - 2025 at WWU and 2022-24 at OU.

Thirty-nine men's lacrosse student-athletes were recognized as NAIA All-Americans across three teams. The All-America Committee, comprised of men's lacrosse coaches from across the country, made the All-America selections. The list comprises 13 members for the first, second and third teams.
