SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - William Woods University men's wrestling continued their impressive 2025-26 campaign, taking a dual win over NCAA DII Drury University on Saturday afternoon. The Owls, in their first year under the direction of Tony Eierman and Mike Eierman, have seen a plethora of firsts for the young program including first Receiving Votes designation in the NAIA Men's Wrestling Top 25 Poll as well as their first win over and NCAA DII opponent.
The Panthers took wins in the 125, 141, 165, and 285-pound weight class, using an experienced group to tally points on the board. The Owls, earning their first decision on a major decision win for Braden Werdenhausen in the 133-pound weight class, saw a resilient young group battle against adversity for the win.
Pairing with Werdenhausen, Whit Nicols and Jake Hall, earned quick wins pinning their opponents in the first round. Austen Wetzel, Elijah Brocksmith and Domnic Mullen cemented the win for the William Woods taking individual wins in the 174, 184, and 197-pound weight classes.
