FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods men's basketball team came up just short Monday evening, falling 73–70 to Westminster College at Anderson Arena.
William Woods (5-10) would come out slow on the offensive end, and Westminster would take that momentum into its hands. In a low-scoring half, the Blue Jays would end the half leading the Owls 38–29.
The Owls would come out of the half clicking as they would hold the Blue Jays to zero points for 9 minutes. This would allow them to outscore the Blue Jays in the second half 41-35, but despite that effort, the Owls would drop the one-possession matchup 73-70.
Oshae Barquet and
Brock Davis led the scoring charge for the Owls, with both putting up 12 points each.
Jacob LaBounty led William Woods on the glass with nine rebounds, while
Tahki Chievous added seven rebounds of his own.
The Owls look to regroup and regain confidence as they will head to Fayette, MO, to take on Central Methodist University on Wednesday to get back into conference play.
