William Woods Athletics Recruits Next Generation of Sports Media Professionals Through Media Corps

FULTON, Mo. — William Woods University Athletics is revitalizing its Media Corps program, recruiting talented students from across the country to join its sports media team and offering competitive scholarships.

Modeled after a collegiate athletic program, Media Corps brings together students with experience and ability in sports broadcasting, digital media and athletic communications. Just as athletic programs recruit student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level, William Woods Athletics is seeking talented student media professionals to represent the University and help tell the stories of Owls Athletics.

Students will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas, including play-by-play broadcasting, color commentary, production, broadcast camera operator, statistics, graphic design, video editing, photography, social media content creation and other fields.

Media Corps members develop their skills in a collegiate athletics environment, receive mentorship from the athletics communication staff, build their portfolios and gain valuable experience that is unique to small college athletics.

The revitalized program will also offer scholarships for qualified students, with awards reflecting each student's skills and potential contributions to the program.

William Woods Athletics is actively recruiting high school/transfer students with experience in sports media and related creative fields who are interested in continuing to develop their skills at the collegiate level.

Students interested in joining Media Corps and learning more about scholarship opportunities should complete the Prospective Student Form.
