QUINCY, Ill. - William Woods women's tennis continues their dominance on the court, this time taking a win against NCAA DII opponent Quincy University. The Owls, ranked #21 nationally in the NAIA, carried the doubles win to a 5-2 match win.
Owls Zara Littlejohn and Kristina Dimitrijevic wrangled a win in the #2 to set the tone for The Woods, with underclassmen Chloe Hecker and Bieke Roovers following suite in #3 doubles to seal the team doubles win.
In singles, #1 Dimitrijevic and #2 Samya Sikand won in consecutive sets to extend the lead for the Owls. The Eagles were able to secure wins in the middle sections with the #3 and #4 singles matches going their way. Mannon Grasset and freshman Elise Vandeweiele secure the match win for Woods, allowing only three points between their four combined sets.
The nationally ranked Owls head to Grand View University next weekend to take on the Vikings. First serve at 9 a.m. in Des Moines.
