DES MOINES, Iowa - William Woods University women's wrestlers Teani Medeiros-Maielua and Gretchen Marriott took to the mats for the Owls at the Grand View University Open over the weekend.

Medeiros-Maielua found herself in two bouts, one versus a wrestler from the University of Iowa and one from Oklahoma Woman's RTC. In the former, the grappler lost by fall, 1:33, and in the latter contest, also by fall, 1:55. 

Marriott faced off against a 138-pound opponent from Texas Wesleyan, losing by tech fall after 1:24.

Owls women's wrestling returns to Anderson Arena Tuesday, February 10th for a Heart conference dual with Missouri Valley College.
