SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- William Woods men's tennis, coming off a 7-0 sweep vs the University of Saint Mary (Kan.), traveled to Drury University Sunday morning to take on the NCAA DII program at their home venue. The Owls lost 3-4 in the contest, despite great play all around.
William Woods lost the doubles point, falling short in #1 and #3 doubles. The only win in the tandem matches was by Tobias Hajek and Cole Horton who bested their opponents 7-5.
The Panthers split singles play with the Owls after their #1, #2, and #4 singles players took the win. Cole Horton won his match in consecutive sets, followed by wins from Tomas Guadagni and Jesper Seger to push the match to 4-3 in favor of Drury.
The Owls return next week in Kansas when they take a long road trip to take on five institutions from the Garden State.
